Department – Radiation Oncology
Introduction – department of radiation oncology treats almost 700 patients annually. Department has state of the art facilities for both teletherapy and brachytherapy. Provides services in curative, preoperative, postoperative and palliative setting.
Teletherapy – Machine – Varian CLINAC-DMX, 80 MLC, with portal imaging, having photons energy of 6X, 15X, and electrons with 6,9,12 MeV – capable of delivering 2D, 3DCRT and IMRT treatments. Eclipse treatment planning software – image registration, fusion, contouring and accurate planning.
Brachytherapy – Genie – HDR microselectron with 3 channels. With X ray based planning for Intracavitary and interstitial brachytherapy. Minor OT facility for performing brachytherapy under sedation.
Mould room – equipped with laser for accurate patient positioning and manoeuvring immobilisation devices.
Simulation – GE light speed CT scanner, 4 slice thickness for contrast and non contrast CT simulation.
